Cruise ship worker charged with multiple stabbings, faces 30 years | Home page

The man accused of stabbing multiple people on a cruise ship has been formally charged.

Ntando Sogoni, a worker aboard the Norwegian Encore, was arrested earlier this month when the ship docked in Juneau.

According to the US Department of Justice, he allegedly assaulted a security guard and a nurse in the ship's medical center. He is also accused of stabbing a 75-year-old passenger and two guards with a pair of scissors.

A federal grand jury has now returned an indictment targeting Sogoni with a series of charges, including assault with intent to murder.

He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
