Criminal arrested after drugs, multiple guns and body armor allegedly found in home

A local felon was arrested Thursday on several criminal charges after allegedly revealing to his probation officer that he had drugs, guns and other illegal items in his possession, which was reportedly confirmed after the execution of a search warrant.

Scotty Aron Weiser, 42, of 470 Elkhorn Loop, was arrested at his residence around 9 a.m. and charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, punishable by imprisonment of up to life in prison, for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, punishable by up to life in prison. to 30 years, 30 counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons and eight counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, each punishable by up to 20 years, two counts of theft by receipt of a firearm, three counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, unlawful possession of body armor and possession of a degraded firearm, each of which carries a penalty of up to go up to six years.

Weiser was being held without bail and pleaded not guilty to all charges Friday in Garland County District Court, with a criminal review hearing scheduled for Aug. 2. According to court records, he was convicted of multiple counts of delivery of methamphetamine in 2013 in Benton County and sentenced to 18 years in prison, with 10 years suspended.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Thursday morning, a formal interview with Weiser took place at the Arkansas Parole and Probation Office, 615 W. Grand Ave.. After being read his rights, Weiser allegedly admitted to possessing firearms and illegal narcotics, specifically methamphetamine, at his Elkhorn Loop residence.

He also allegedly admitted he had a gun and three bags of methamphetamine in his 2007 Dodge Charger which he drove to the probation office. The sachets were located, two of 3.7 grams and one of 3.6 grams, for a total of 11 grams. It was also discovered that a minor had been left unattended in the vehicle.

Hot Springs Police detectives obtained a search warrant for Weiser's residence which was executed that morning and upon arrival, officers observed two juveniles and a 34-year-old adult female exiting the residence.

While searching the residence, officers allegedly found 29 firearms, two of which were stolen and one with a defaced serial number, firearm parts and accessories, ammunition, other weapons suspected of being methamphetamine, bulletproof vests, digital scales, three loaded syringes and a homemade object. pipe “used to inhale illegal narcotics.”
