Containment of the Hesperia Fire increased to 95 percent, with the fire at approximately 1,078 acres on Wednesday, June 19, the San Bernardino County Fire Department said.

The wind-driven wildfire started shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday in the 18000 block of Highway 173 near Arrowhead Lake Road in Hesperia, according to Cal Fire. As of Wednesday afternoon, 95 percent of the fire's perimeter had been surrounded by a control line, preventing the flames from spreading further, San Bernardino County Fire Battalion Chief Mike McClintock said.

“Crews will continue to mop up and patrol for hot spots within the fire,” McClintock said.

No additional fire growth was reported.
