Initial messages from California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 4 – Oakland stated: “All lanes are still blocked due to a collision, but crews are working on the incident on WB-580 just ahead. east of the middle span of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Lane 2 should open soon.”

An update followed, stating: “Lane #2 is now open on WB I-580 on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge as of 3:35 p.m. Sunday. Lane No. 1 remains blocked.
