Court documents: Oak Grove man charged after stabbing another man in the knee

MORGAN COUNTY, Missouri (KMIZ)

An Oak Grove man has been charged with four felonies after allegedly stabbing another man in the knee early Wednesday in Morgan County.

Dana Ritchie, 27, was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held in the Morgan County Jail on $500,000 bail. No court date has been set.

According to probable cause, shortly after midnight Wednesday, the Laurie Police Department was called about a domestic dispute involving Ritchie.

Court documents say the victim and Ritchie were on a porch talking about the possibility of Ritchie receiving counseling. Ritchie then allegedly “forcefully pushed the front door and entered the residence without any authorization,” according to court documents.

Ritchie then allegedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen and began chasing the victim, according to the probable cause statement. The victim then fell into a ditch while trying to run away and Ritchie stabbed him in the knee, according to court documents. Police wrote that Ritchie had visible injuries “that appeared consistent with minor knife wounds.”
