Couple dead after daughter says shot parents, DA says

A Bedford, Massachusetts, couple died Thursday after their adult daughter said she shot her parents, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office. District Attorney Marian Ryan said police received a 911 call just after 9 a.m. from a Washington Street resident saying a woman who lived at her home told her she had just shot on his parents. “The woman went outside, found a car on an adjacent lawn and “Inside that car was a 56-year-old woman, also a Bedford resident, who was pronounced dead at the scene, along with a 56-year-old man year-old who was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries,” Ryan said. She was held without bail during her appearance in Concord District Court and will return to court on August 20.

Cavallaro lives with her partner in a house on Washington Street and her parents live elsewhere in Bedford, Ryan said.

“I just drove this way, taking my kids to daycare, you know, 10 minutes before this happened,” said Colleen, a local resident. “So coming back onto the road and being cut off and all the police presence was, you know, very unsettling.”

Ryan said there was no known history of issues or problems with the suspect or victims.

The victims have not been identified.
