Couple dead after daughter says shot parents, DA says

A Bedford, Massachusetts, couple died Thursday after their adult daughter said she shot her parents, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office. Ryan said Jessica Cavallaro, 24, was arrested and charged with one count of murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and unlawful possession of a weapon fire.

She was held without bail during her appearance in Concord District Court and will return to court on August 20.

Cavallaro lives with her partner in a house on Washington Street and her parents live elsewhere in Bedford, Ryan said.

“I just drove this way, taking my kids to daycare, you know, 10 minutes before this happened,” said Colleen, a local resident. “So coming back onto the road and being cut off and all the police presence was, you know, very unsettling.”

Ryan said there was no known history of issues or problems with the suspect or victims.

The victims have not been identified.
