Country Music Star Recovering From Near Death Addresses Fans: 'I Love You All'

Colt Ford appears to be doing much better, and that must be good news for fans of the country music star.

And we know Ford is doing better because, for the second time in as many weeks, he checked in on Instagram.

“We did a little cardio rehab today,” the singer said in a video he posted there Friday.

“Louis, have you made any?” he said, nodding towards his dog, who was lying with him on a couch. “His tail is wagging. He walked from the bedroom to the couch. Isn't that right, Louis? »

Next, Ford spoke directly to his fans.

“We love you guys,” he said. “I try to improve every day. I'm trying to come back. I miss you so much. Have a great weekend and a happy fourth birthday. I love you all. »

Country music star Jake Owen was among those who responded.

“I love you buddy,” he wrote.

And many wishes and prayers were also sent to Ford.

It's been a remarkable turnaround for Ford, who collapsed and died twice – he was revived each time, obviously – following a show in Arizona in early April.

He revealed some details of what happened later this month when he called into the Big D and Bubba radio show.

“It’s been a crazy, traumatic experience,” Ford told the hosts. “I didn’t even remember coming here to do a show in Phoenix.”

Ford had just gotten back on his tour bus after playing at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row bar when he texted his fiancée: “Hey babe.”

“And then I dropped dead,” he said.

Ford said fortunately, his band came to him and found him. And, he said, country music star Brantley Gilbert got involved in getting him to the hospital and eventually making sure he was transferred to another hospital when the one they were at didn't have the proper equipment to treat Ford's heart condition.

“He said, 'I don't care what you do, take him to the other hospital,'” Ford said of Gilbert.

Ford said he died during transport to the other hospital.

“They brought me back,” he said. “They saved my life. The Lord had more to do for me.

Ford said he actually died twice during the ordeal.

“It happened on the 3rd, I think, and I didn't wake up until the 10th,” he said.

He said one of his doctors told him they didn't give him a chance of surviving.

“He said, I would give you a 0.1 percent chance that you survived,” Ford said.

“I had so much trauma in my body and in my heart,” he said. “I had three stents (in my heart). »

Ford, who has worked closely with Toby Keith, Jamey Johnson and Jason Aldean, has had his share of health issues. Taste of Country reported last year that he was battling myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease.

He also reportedly had eye cancer and required surgery three years ago to correct it.

Ford, whose real name is Jason Farris Brown, is a former professional golfer. He has released eight studio albums, the first in 2008 and the most recent, “Must Be Country”, released in 2023.
