Cop arrested for Justin Timberlake's DWI identified as 'too aggressive' rookie

The young police officer who didn't know he arrested pop star Justin Timberlake for drunk driving earlier this week has been identified.

The 23-year-old officer's name is Michael Arkinson, according to a prisoner's report from Sag Harbor, New York, obtained Saturday by the Daily Mail.

A Long Island, New York, native — who was once stopped by a Gen Z cop — described him to the outlet as an “overly aggressive” recruit.

“I think Justin Timberlake was a victim of the overly aggressive police in Sag Harbor,” said the individual, identified only as Spencer in the article.

Spencer claimed Arkinson, who would have turned 24 this month, had previously stopped him for making a U-turn when no one was there – but eventually let him go with a warning.

“It was out of season and there was no one,” the driver insisted again. “It was an ad-khead move. I felt like he arrested me just for the sake of it.

Spencer was reportedly in contact with Arkinson again after he was arrested for talking on his cell phone, which he said was on speakerphone at the time.

“I thought he would give me a break, and I was driving less than 25 mph trying to get to the Y in East Hampton,” Spencer said. The disgruntled New Yorker said he ended up getting a $145 ticket.

Residents of Long Island's upscale Hamptons reportedly nicknamed Arkinson “the Sag Harbor Nazi” and a “red-headed dipshit.”

Arkinson, who is also from this borough, attended South Hampton High School before playing lacrosse at Roger Williams University.

He was reportedly promoted to full-time Sag Harbor officer last March after graduating from the police academy in 2022.

Page Six reached out to Arkinson and his police department for comment but did not immediately respond. Timberlake's rep declined to comment.

Timberlake was arrested at the Sag Harbor Police Department shortly after midnight on Tuesday after being stopped for allegedly running a stop sign and swerving.

He was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, as well as citations for ignoring a stop sign and failing to stay in an appropriate lane.
