Conway woman arrested after allegedly pouring bleach on victim after shower

A Conway woman was arrested earlier this week on misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest, according to arrest warrants.

Last Monday, Horry County officers responded to Landmark Road in reference to a domestic violence incident.

When they arrived at the scene, the victim reportedly told police that the suspect, later identified as Crystal Ann Vause, punched him in the face and poured bleach on him after he got out. the shower.

In the incident report, officers note that the victim's face was red and swollen and that there was “a strong odor of bleach emanating from his person.” In addition, a witness confirmed the victim's account.

Vause reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.

Then on Wednesday afternoon, police responded to Wayside Road for a domestic violence incident in progress.

According to the incident report, Vause said the victim refused to transport her to her mother's house and nothing physical happened between the two of them.

However, the victim reportedly told police she threw bleach in his face, hit him in the eye and grabbed him by the neck.

Then, while the officer was arresting Vause in handcuffs, the arrestee broke free of the handcuffs and fled into the house and out the back door, according to the incident report.

Police chased her around the house and arrested her about 70 meters from the house. She was then incarcerated at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Incident reports indicate Vause's criminal history shows two prior convictions for domestic violence, on May 18, 2018 and May 23, 2022.
