Construction worker killed after being hit by marked dump truck | Local

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A construction worker who died after being struck by a dump truck Friday in southern Tippecanoe County has been identified.

Dale Thomas, 53, of West Lafayette, was struck by a dump truck while backing into a construction site, according to Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello.

As News 18 previously reported, the crash happened shortly after noon Friday at US 231 South and County Road 800 South.

Thomas was taken to IU Health Arnett Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries in the emergency room.

Costello is expected to release preliminary results of the man's autopsy on Monday.
