Connecticut State Police suggest MA stabbing and CT homicide are linked

Jared Ravizza, arrested Saturday night after crashing a Porsche SUV in Sandwich after a police chase, faces charges in two stabbing incidents in Massachusetts.

According to Massachusetts State Police, Ravizza, 26, of Chilmark on Martha's Vineyard, is accused of driving around the ticket window of the AMC movie theater in Braintree on Saturday and stabbing four girls ages 9 to 17.

Police also accused Ravizza of stabbing a 21-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man at a Plymouth McDonald's about an hour later. All six stabbing victims are expected to recover.

Police said Ravizza's car matched the description of the car that left the Braintree movie theater and was described in a BOLO (be on the lookout) call following the previous attacks.

Several unconfirmed reports link Ravizza to a homicide that occurred in Deep River, Connecticut, on Saturday afternoon, and a press release from the Connecticut State Police shortly after his arrest in Massachusetts strongly implies a connection, although which he does not indicate.

The CSP release described the Deep River case and added: “A suspect in this investigation has been taken into custody in the State of Massachusetts and there is no active threat to the public. »

Ravizza is expected to appear before a Plymouth County judge Tuesday morning.
