Concert to raise funds for volunteer firefighters

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – The Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation is hosting “Heat Up the Night with Kevin Fowler” to raise money for local volunteer fire departments. Foundation President Leslie Schaffner joined 7 News Anchor Haley Wilson to discuss the event.

Kevin Fowler, a singer-songwriter whose songs have been covered by country music stars like George Jones, Mark Chesnutt and Montgomery Gentry, will headline the event, with local talent Jay Hollis as opening.

Schaffner said events like this are important because they help raise money for the volunteer fire departments that make up most of the area's fire departments.

They awarded grants to 21 different volunteer departments in southwest Oklahoma alone

The concert is scheduled for Friday, July 26 at The Warehouse in Wichita Falls, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. with an acoustic set by Jay Hollis, followed by Kevin Fowler at 8 p.m.

If you want to attend the concert, you can buy tickets here.

If you are unable to attend but would still like to support local volunteer fire departments, sponsorship offers are available to help your local heroes using the same link.
