Columbus police are investigating a double homicide at a South Side home.

Columbus police have released the identity of one of two men found dead from gunshot wounds Tuesday morning in a home on the city's south side.

Darrell Walker, 45, of Reynoldsburg, was found inside the home in the 1200 block of Seymour Avenue by Columbus police with a second male victim they had not yet identified Tuesday evening.

Columbus police responded shortly before 10 a.m. after a report of a shooting at the home on Seymour Avenue near Deshler Park. When they arrived, they found Walker and the unidentified man suffering from gunshot wounds. Columbus firefighters pronounced Walker and the man dead at the scene at 10:06 a.m., police said.

Earl Littlefield, president of the neighborhood association, said the neighborhood is close-knit and everyone knows everyone. He said the street was quiet and there weren't many problems.

Littlefield said at least one of the men who died was related to the occupants of the house next door and that family frequented the homes.

Several family members had gathered at one of the homes on Tuesday afternoon as the police investigation into the deaths continued.

Columbus police homicide detectives are investigating the deaths. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Columbus Police Homicide Detective Kathy Zimmer at (614) 645-4192, the Homicide Unit at (614) 645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477). .
