Cole Klemke arrested for stabbing pregnant woman over weekend in Mira Mesa

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego police announced the arrest of a pregnant woman in a stabbing incident in Mira Mesa on Saturday.

The San Diego Police Department released photos of the suspect after a four-month pregnant woman was stabbed multiple times at an ATM in what police say was an unprovoked attack.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. while the victim was standing outside his vehicle at a drive-thru ATM near Mira Mesa Target. She was injured in the neck, left shoulder and chin.

At a press conference Sunday evening, San Diego police announced the arrest of Cole Klemke, 27, a Carmel Valley resident who SDPD said is considered homeless.

SDPD reports the victim is at home recovering after being treated for his injuries at the hospital.

Police released the photos to the public Saturday evening in hopes of finding the suspect.

SDPD took Klemke into custody. He is being held at San Diego Central Prison. He faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder. His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
