Cold Scorpio, former WWE star arrested for gas station stabbing

Charles Scaggs, known for his performances as a professional wrestler under the name 2 Cold Scorpio, is claiming self-defense after being arrested in Missouri for stabbing another man during a fight at a gas station.

Scaggs, a security guard at Love's Travel Stop in Kansas City, told police he observed a man lighting a cigarette inside the store and confronted him at 3:40 a.m. on June 15, according to TMZ.

Scaggs told police the man became angry and yelled at him, “What the fuck are you going to do?”

The alleged victim told TMZ he didn't light the cigarette inside the store, but “it may not have been completely out” when he entered.

Scaggs told police the man threatened him, they took him outside and the man fought with him.

The former professional wrestler claimed he took his knife out of his pocket and stabbed the man multiple times in self-defense.

Police said they found the alleged victim “bleeding from the head, chest, buttocks, legs and abdomen,” according to TMZ.

At the hospital, the man told police that it was Scaggs who started the fight.

Scaggs was charged with two counts – first-degree assault and armed criminal action – and pleaded not guilty.

His next court date is in July.

Scaggs found his most success as a professional wrestler in the 1990s, moving from WCW to ECW to the WWF.

Before long, he and Marcus Alexander Bagwell – later known as “Buff Bagwell” – were the 1993 WCW Tag Team Champions.

Scaggs feuded with the biggest names in ECW during his time there, including Taz, Sabu and Shane Douglas.

Scaggs spent most of the 21st century performing in Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan and on the independent circuit.
