Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three individuals in Donholm, Nairobi, after they were found in possession of 298 cocaine pellets.

The suspects, identified as Sharon Debra Achieng', 25, Leon Ochieng', 28, and Ronald Onyango, 25, were apprehended at their residence in the New Donholm area.

The DCI, in its continued fight against drug trafficking, acted on intelligence to intercept the suspects.

The Counter Narcotics Unit (ANU) and the Operations Support Unit (OSU) discovered a black suitcase in their possession. The suitcase contained some clothes, toiletries and three teddy bears.

Upon inspection, it was found that the teddy bears were hiding the cocaine pellets, weighing about 6.8kg and with an estimated street value of Sh27.5 million.

Meanwhile, several plane tickets to different destinations in the suspect's name were discovered, along with 37,000 shillings in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal trade.

“We thank members of the public who continue to share actionable information,” DCI said on X.

The DCI also issued a stern warning to traffickers, stressing that their efforts would only bring them legal consequences.

“Traffickers' unwarranted efforts will only earn them tickets to courtrooms and correctional facilities,” the DCI noted.
