The arrest took place shortly before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at Red Shoe Island Bistro in Key West, according to Monroe County Sheriff's Office jail records.

Joseph Schroeder, the restaurant's owner, told FOX 8 News that no one was injured in the restaurant because it was closed at the time. He said the vehicle crashed in front of the building, sending concrete and debris 20 feet inside.

The team released a statement Thursday that read: “We are aware of the incident, are gathering more information and have no further comment at this time. »

Phelps is scheduled to be arraigned July 2, according to jail records.

Rookie Phelps signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2023, out of the University of Kansas. He was cut from the active roster that year.
