City commissioners will vote this week on a possible Friday night curfew for teens on white

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — Will a popular city event impose a curfew on teens in attendance? Wake Forest officials wanted to see how the teens performed on Friday Night on White this Friday before making a decision.

The Wake Forest mayor said that while most of the teens at the event were well behaved, there had been problems in the past with rude, disruptive teens and instances of shoplifting.

Last week, city commissioners voted whether to enforce an 8 p.m. curfew at the event for unsupervised children under 18, wanting to see first how that would go. Friday.

Music and food aren't why Heather Habets came to her first Friday Night on White.

“My 13-year-old said several schools in her age group were coming to this event and she wanted to go,” Habets said.

She thinks a curfew is a good idea.

“Come on parents, wake up, it’s up to us,” Habets said.
