Childish Gambino Confirms Release Date for Single “Lithonia”

Childish Gambino wants the world to have more fun, which is something he kept in mind and inspired his next film. Bando Stone and the New World album, his last under the moniker.

Gambino (born Donald Glover) took to Instagram Live on Wednesday (June 26), where he clarified his plans for his single “Lithonia” and accused streaming platform Audiomack of allegedly leaking the release date earlier than desired .

“‘Lithonia’ comes out July 2. It was leaked – it pissed me off a little to be honest,” he explained. “That’s another reason why you don’t get good things. For what? It's not valuable enough, it's just one. And I know who did it. Audiomack, damn, no soup for you. You don't get the album now. This is what time I am. (Billboard has contacted Audiomack for comment.)

Pierre de Bando is supposed to be a soundtrack to a film, but not much is known about a potential release date on either front.

During his IG Live, the “This Is America” artist also implored people to have more fun in life and he seemingly alluded to the Drake-Kendrick Lamar war that provided the most musical fun this year .

“I'm trying to have fun. Because I feel like people aren't having enough fun,” he added. “When I was a kid, there were great things that united us, and I feel bad for you all. I feel bad for some of you.

Gambino continued: “Even this year, the most fun we had was a fight. (It was) a song from a fight, from a beef rap, of which I enjoyed every minute. It was very fun. But it's still pretty negative from a certain angle, I guess.

In May, the 40-year-old multi-treaty delivered its Atavista (reinvented versions 3.15.20) album, which served as a revamped edition of 11 tracks from his 3.15.20 project from March 2020.
