Child trafficking racket: eight more suspects in child trafficking | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Details of eight more members allegedly associated with the child trafficking busted by the Rachakonda police two days ago have been revealed. Police are currently trying to ascertain the whereabouts of these eight people, believed to be located in Vijayawada and other neighboring districts of Andhra Pradesh. “Investigation revealed that there are more traffickers involved in the racket who belong to different parts of Andhra Pradesh. With the information collected from the arrested accused, we are in the process of tracing the other traffickers,” said a senior police official who is part of the investigation team. So far, police have rescued 14 children from the couples to whom these trafficked infants were sold. “We suspect that there are many more children who were supplied to childless couples by the suppliers based in Delhi and Pune, the existence of which we are not yet aware of. If we can find these traffickers, we can save other children too. They can also lead us to the suppliers and through them to the biological parents of the trafficked children,” said a senior Rachakonda police official. The local team also contacted the Mumbai Police to share details of the case in which one of the 11 arrested accused, Mudavath Sharada, was involved, in the hope of getting more leads. “We have requested the FIR, remand report and other details related to the trafficking case. This may also give us more details during further investigation,” said a senior Rachakonda police official.
