Chico police search for suspect in shooting near Highway 32 – Chico Enterprise-Record

CHICO — The Chico Police Department is searching for a suspect in a shooting that occurred Friday evening near Highway 32.

According to a press release, at 9:41 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of East Eighth and Olive streets and, upon arrival, located an unidentified man with an injury by apparent gunshot. The suspect has already fled.

Officers administered emergency medical treatment to the victim, who was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. As of Friday evening, the suspect's condition was stable, and officers were following up with witnesses and gathering evidence, as well as following up on any leads regarding a possible suspect.
