Chicago woman disappears in Bahamas

A 41-year-old Chicago woman who was in the Bahamas for a yoga certification retreat has been missing for nearly a week. Taylor Casey was last seen on June 19 at the Sivananda Ashram yoga retreat on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas, and when the retreat center noticed she was not in class that day, the staff informed his family the next day: USA today reports. Her family is now on their way to the Bahamas to help find her. “I believe Taylor is in danger because she was eager to share her yoga retreat experience with others when she returned,” says her mother. “Taylor would never disappear like that.”

The Royal Bahamas Police Force has not provided any details on the timeline of Casey's disappearance or his last known whereabouts, Fox News reports. Casey is described as a light-skinned black woman, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds, with brown eyes. Her natural, brown hair is often covered in a durag, according to a press release. “I'm in shock right now and can't believe I'm posting this. Taylor is such a kind person who cares deeply about the community,” read one of the comments on the dedicated Facebook page looking for Casey. (More Bahamas stories.)
