Authorities said the cars involved likely continued off the highway before crashing at the intersection of 95th Street and Stony Island Avenue.

Police said two people were shot, one fatally. One of the vehicles involved was a tow truck, police said.

A witness said the drivers were arguing before the shots rang out.

“The man in the SUV ran into the truck and he was angry and he thought the two truck drivers had put the brick there, so he got out of his car and started shooting. They then started shooting back and ended up killing him,” the witness said.
