It started Sunday night, when young people gathered in the street near Pulaski and Iowa in Humboldt Park.

The video shows hundreds of people crowding a nearby Shell gas station.

Employees said they locked the doors because of the crowds.

As the crowd continued to grow, gunfire broke out around 12:46 a.m., police said.

Surveillance video shows people hiding behind cars to avoid gunfire.

At least one other person at the meeting had a gun.

The youngest victim was a 15-year-old girl who was shot in the neck and taken to an area hospital in serious condition, police said.

“People are trying to find out what hospital their friends and loved ones went to, there were ambulances everywhere,” said crisis responder Pastor Donovan Price.

An 18-year-old woman was shot in the back; a 19-year-old woman was shot in the arm; a 25-year-old man was shot in the buttocks; A 35-year-old man was shot in the foot, all were taken to the hospital and listed in fair condition, police said.

Price described the chaotic scene, saying people's belongings were flying everywhere in panic.

A 33-year-old woman suffered a broken ankle in the chaos and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

A gas station worker said he called the police for help seven times; adding that it is common for young people to gather in the area on weekends.

On Monday alone, at least 24 people were shot, two of them fatally, according to Chicago police.

Seven people were also shot near 60th and Winchester in West Englewood.

These victims were also in their twenties or thirties.
