Cheyenne residents sentenced to prison for drug trafficking

Two Cheyenne residents have been sentenced to prison in separate drug trafficking cases.

That's according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Wyoming.

According to the release, the case against Amanda Lynn Piercy, 37, [above top photo] began when Cheyenne police were dispatched to his home on a report of an unconscious person on September 8, 2023. Officers discovered Piercy had overdosed on fentanyl in the basement. When she was revived, officers found seven fentanyl pills in her pants pocket. A search of the property uncovered additional fentanyl pills and a handgun.

She pleaded guilty on February 20, 2024.

On May 22, U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Fruedenthal sentenced Piercy to 40 months and 21 days in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

Sandra Munoz

Sandra Muñoz, 40 years old [bottom photo] of Cheyenne was arrested on October 8, 2023. Her case began when Cheyenne police attempted to pull her over for speeding and having a cracked windshield. She fled the scene, but ended up crashing her car. A police officer arrested her and three other passengers. A search of his car uncovered 2,000 fentanyl pills and 173 grams of methamphetamine.

Munoz pleaded guilty on February 20, 2024. On May 22, U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Fruedenthal sentenced her to 42 months in prison for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine.
