Chelsea have bargain deal with Alexander Isak replacement already identified after £115m enquiry

Chelsea have a long list of striker targets this summer and have already made several approaches to clubs.

Inquiring with Newcastle United about Alexander Isak would be the last of them. It would also be the most expensive move, with the Premier League rivals expected to demand a record fee to part ways with the Sweden international.

Discussions have also taken place with Atletico Madrid, Aston Villa, Hoffenheim and Lille over Samu Omorodion, Jhon Duran, Maximilian Beier and Jonathan David. Isak and Newcastle are now to be added, but the club's list of centre-forward targets seemingly extends even further than that.

The Daily Mail claims that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another name further down Chelsea's list. Everton have offered the former England international a new contract, but the player is yet to renew and will therefore become a free agent next summer if no extension is agreed.

Therefore, the 27-year-old could be available at a reduced price if the Merseyside club sell this summer rather than losing their talisman for nothing in 12 months' time. Chelsea have reportedly been monitoring the situation since the start of the month. Newcastle, of all clubs, were linked with signing Calvert-Lewin last week.

However, talks are now believed to be over as Everton are reportedly expecting £40million. This seems too costly for Newcastle and could prove the case for Chelsea if they make their interest in the striker official.
