Celebrities Who Speak Out Against Alleged Hollywood Predators

Molly Ringwald, the famous actress of the 80s Pretty in pink And Sixteen candles, recently returned to the headlines. She spoke about her run-ins with Hollywood predators early in her career and how she tried to steer her daughter away from acting. Ringwald spoke on these topics in a recent WTF with Marc Maron podcast episode. She says that even though she never met Harvey Weinstein or hung out with bludgeons during her big years in Hollywood, she was still taken advantage of. In this article, we'll follow Ringwald's lead and take a deeper look at seven times celebrities spoke out about Hollywood predators.

Charlamagne presses Tyga about Kylie Jenner

In 2017, Tyga appeared on The breakfast club to promote his fifth album, SlutImTheShit2. Co-host Charlamagne tha God called out the Compton-born rapper on his questionable relationship with Kylie Jenner. Rumors that Tyga and Jenner were dating had started swirling when Jenner was just 16, and the relationship was made public when she was just 17. Tyga tried to fend off questions by saying they really started out as “friends” and remain that way. for the majority. When Charlamagne made comparisons to R. Kelly and said people had called him a Hollywood predator, the “Rack City” rapper strangely responded, “I'm always ahead of the curve.” I'm just always ahead of the curve.

Jessie Woo and an unnamed Hollywood predator

Jessie Woo is probably best known as a social media personality and VH1 cast member. Love & Hip Hop: Miami. But she's also a singer, even if her experiences in the music industry have been… far from ideal, to say the least. In 2012, Woo was trying to get her singing career off the ground. She was approached by a still anonymous (but apparently well-known) producer who wanted to help her. Woo explained that she realized there might be ulterior motives. She naively assumed that if she could “get around this person's creepiness” she could make her dreams come true. Unfortunately, everything came crashing down when she was attacked. Woo has spoken publicly about this incident on several occasions. She nevertheless hesitates to reveal the identity of this Hollywood predator.

Between 2014 and 2016, pop singer Ke$ha was engaged in an ongoing legal battle with her producer, Dr. Luke. The “Tik Tok” singer argued in court that she was drugged, abused and mentally tormented by Dr. Luke. This would have taken place over a period of several years. The producer has denied all allegations. The case was eventually settled in 2023. Ke$ha was forced to continue her career during the legal fiasco, although the entire fiasco resulted in a 5-year gap between her second and third album.

Raz B and Chris Stokes

Raz B, founding member of the R&B boy band B2K, stunned audiences when he attempted to jump from the roof of a Kansas City hospital in May 2023. The incident occurred just days after he took to social media and surprisingly renounced previous abuse allegations against one-time manager Chris Stokes. For context, Raz B publicly accused Stokes of abuse twice, first in 2007 and again in 2010. The withdrawal of the earlier allegations, coupled with the attempted roof jump, left everyone perplexed. Raz B previously said he would spend all his money to get justice, but apparently calmed down due to cease and desist letters. The truth of what happened is still unclear, although Raz B's erratic behavior and rapid change of narrative has raised many eyebrows about Stokes' potential as a Hollywood predator.

Jessie Reyez and Noel “Detail” Fisher

In 2017, R&B singer Jessie Reyez released a song called “Gatekeeper.” In the track, she sings about a mugger who promises his glory in exchange for favors. Reyez later revealed that she wrote the song about producer Noel “Detail” Fisher. Detail produced hit songs like Lil Wayne's “How to Love” and Beyoncé's “711.” She claimed Detail belittled her for not sleeping with him or using her body to advance his career. Reyez's claims were later supported by singer Tinashe, among others. Tinashe said the only recording session she left because she felt uncomfortable was with Fisher. Other ongoing allegations have made Detail yet another alleged Hollywood predator.

Lady GaGa and another unnamed Hollywood predator

Lady GaGa announced in 2014 that she had been assaulted by her former producer. This was before she released her first album and became famous. He may not have been a Hollywood predator, but he was a predator nonetheless, using GaGa's big dreams against her. She was apparently pregnant and the whole situation was so traumatic that it triggered a psychotic break. Now a Grammy and Oscar winner, GaGa said her pre-stardom producer threatened to destroy all of her music unless she slept with him. It was all this experience that motivated the creation of his song “Swine” in 2013.

Sean “Diddy” Combs Helped Aubrey O'Day Form Her MTV Pop Group Danity Kane Make the group in 2005. Amid the recent growing allegations against Diddy, O'Day stepped forward as another voice condemning him. After Diddy posted his recent apology video on Instagram for his abuse of Cassie Ventura, O'Day addressed X. She wrote that “Diddy didn't apologize to Cassie. He apologized to the whole world for seeing what he did.”

In December 2022, O'Day claimed that Diddy kicked her off Bad Boy Records' roster for not doing things outside of music that he asked of her. Although she was not explicit at the time, her recent statements about the realities of abuse suggest she is one of the record mogul's victims. O'Day said People magazine from June 1, 2024, “There is no justification when you are a victim of someone.” O'Day also revealed that Diddy tried to get him and the rest of the Bad Boy roster to sign an NDA last year. The terms included never disparaging him or the label. O'Day flatly refused.
