Cash, jewelry and drugs found at suspected human trafficking locations in Macomb County – Macomb Daily

Thousands of dollars in cash, high-end jewelry and a small amount of cocaine were confiscated at several Macomb County locations that were raided this week in a suspected human trafficking operation, officials said. authorities announced Thursday.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Enforcement Team (SET) took the items while executing search warrants at two massage parlors and two residences Wednesday morning. They also arrested six people, while federal authorities made six additional arrests.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham praised the work conducted by the SET Team, the Sterling Heights Police Department, the FBI and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

“Their collaborative efforts and effective work resulted in the arrest of human traffickers in Macomb County,” he said.

Officers executed search warrants Wednesday morning at 25 Health Spa in Shelby Township, Healing Plus Spa in Sterling Heights, a residence in Macomb Township and a residence in Shelby Township.

Additionally, the SET Team conducted an additional search of a home in Warren on Wednesday evening. The search was aimed at obtaining social control based on information provided by those taken into custody earlier in the day.

According to a press release, investigators confiscated $25,300 in cash, jewelry and a small amount of cocaine at all four locations.

The six suspects arrested by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office included:

• A 54-year-old woman from Macomb Township
• A 48-year-old man from Macomb Township
• A 50-year-old man from Shelby Township
• A 49-year-old woman from Shelby Township
• A 61-year-old woman from Eastpointe
• A 64-year-old woman from Shelby Township

They are expected to be arraigned today in 41A District Court, a sheriff's office spokesperson said.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the sheriff's office.
