Car crash turns deadly, man stabbed to death in Morris Heights

A vehicle collision in Morris Heights turned tragic Tuesday afternoon after an argument between two drivers took a disastrous turn.

Police say a female driver and male driver crashed outside of 1809 Phelan Place just before 4:30 p.m. The two drivers began arguing and the female driver called another man to the scene to confront the male driver.

The man called to the scene arrived and stabbed Ronald Gomez-Mesa, 29, who the NYPD said was trying to de-escalate the situation.

Gomez-Mesa was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

There are no arrests at this time.
