Canada supplies weapons to Ukraine without restrictions on their use

Canada has not imposed any restrictions on the use of weapons it supplies to Ukraine against targets on Russian territory, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said on May 29.

During a joint press briefing with her Swedish counterpart Tobias Billström, she stressed that “Russia has no red lines”, unlike some of Ukraine's Western partners.

She added that Canada intends to continue providing significant military aid to kyiv.

“And in Canada there are no conditions for supplying weapons to Ukraine, so we will continue to work with the Ukrainian army,” Joly said.

Earlier on May 29, the AFP news agency, citing anonymous sources, reported that Ukraine had already repeatedly used Western weapons for strikes on Russian territory, most recently in Krasnodar.

In recent weeks, the United States and Germany have become the latest providers of military aid to kyiv, still insisting that their weapons should not be used to attack Russia's sovereign territory.
