CALVERT COUNTY, Maryland – On Monday, June 24, 2024, Calvert County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) School Resource Officers (SROs) kicked off Camp JR Sheriff. This camp aims to teach young people the importance of discipline, self-respect, integrity and teamwork.

According to CCSO, “this week-long camp transforms the traditional role of the law enforcement officer into that of a mentor and friend while encouraging youth to become partners in building a safer community. »

The camp is open to students in grades 6, 7 and 8. The campers were greeted by Sheriff Ricky Cox, who gave the opening address at the start of the day.

“We have a great group this year and we are excited to share the memories made along the way,” CCSO said.
