Calvert County Sheriff's Office body-worn camera footage released of deadly police chase

BALTIMORE – On June 10, 2024, the Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Attorney General's Office released body camera footage of a fatal police chase that began in Calvert County and ended in Calvert County by Anne Arundel on May 13, 2024.

The pursuit began after receiving reports of car break-ins in the Huntingtown area. As officers attempted to apprehend the suspects, two vehicles fled, leading to a high-speed chase.

In Chesapeake Beach, two suspects were arrested after abandoning their car. The second vehicle was pursued into Anne Arundel County for approximately 25 miles, where it collided with a pickup truck. The truck driver and occupants of the fleeing car were hospitalized. The front passenger in the fleeing car, a young woman, died from her injuries.

All six suspects, from Glen Burnie, MD, are under investigation and charges are pending. The vehicles involved were reported stolen. The IID is continuing its investigation and the identities of the suspects have not been released at this time.

We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
