Bush fire breaks out in Fountain Hills neighborhood

The fire occurred in a car wash area surrounded by homes near Fountain Hills Boulevard and Arrow Drive, officials said.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. — A brush fire prompted evacuations in a Fountain Hills neighborhood Tuesday evening.

The fire occurred in a car wash area near Fountain Hills Boulevard and Arrow Drive, according to the Fountain Hills Fire Department.

The fire was contained to about four acres, Fountain Hills officials said. It burned through trees and thick brush, but no structures were damaged.

Sky12 footage shows numerous fire trucks at the scene and crews running through the wash area with flashlights. Hot spots can be seen burning. Fire officials said crews would remain on scene for an extended period of time to monitor the area.

The fire appears to have been very close to the homes.
