Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Investigation – Morrison County Officer Involved Stabbing

(KNSI) – The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says a man had to be taken to the hospital after a stabbing incident involving a police officer Saturday evening.

The traffic stop took place on Highway 25, south of Pierz, around 10:30 p.m. The officer arrested one person for speeding and possible driving under the influence. A press release states that the suspect in this case failed a field sobriety test.

When they were told they were under arrest, a fight broke out. The sheriff's office says the suspect was stabbed. They were airlifted due to the severity of their injuries.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is currently investigating the incident. The statement said a video was provided to the BCA.

The Little Falls Police Department, Life Link, Mayo Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol and Pierz First Response responded to the scene.
