Building fire displaces 25 people in Chambersburg

Crews were called to a building fire in Franklin County Saturday morning. A heavy fire could be seen when firefighters arrived around 1:15 a.m. in the 200 block of South Second Street in Chambersburg. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. of the building, it was found that no one was trapped in the fire. According to the Chambersburg Fire Department, one firefighter suffered burns and was taken to Chambersburg Hospital, where he was treated and released. Firefighters say 25 residents have been displaced and are being cared for by the Red Cross. Preliminary damages are estimated at $250,000. The State Police Fire Marshal was called in to determine the cause of the fire.
