Brush fire breaks out in Val Verde

A bushfire was reported in Val Verde on Saturday evening.

The brush fire, dubbed the Norma Fire, was reported around 8:30 p.m. Saturday near the 31400 block of San Martinez Road in Val Verde, according to initial reports from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Smoke and flames were visible from wildfire cameras operated by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CALFIRE).

No injuries were reported as of 8:50 p.m. Saturday.

The Norma Fire is estimated to be approximately one acre per radio traffic.
