Brush fire along I-5 in Gorman area provides important response

A brush fire off Interstate 5 in the Gorman area had grown to 2,000 acres by Saturday afternoon and was slowing traffic on the Grapevine.

Los Angeles County fire officials reported on social media that the fire was at 500 acres around 2:40 p.m., describing it as a third-alarm incident with structures threatened and evacuation orders in place .

By about 4:20 p.m., the fire, dubbed the Post Fire, had grown to about 2,000 acres, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, part of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Agency. The sheriff's update says no structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

An update from Cal Fire reported no containments as of 5 p.m.
