Browning man convicted of meth trafficking

A Browning man was sentenced Tuesday to four years and eight months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for trafficking methamphetamine.

Robbie Wayne Racine pleaded guilty in January to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Court documents indicate Racine was arrested in several vehicles containing methamphetamine and other evidence of distribution.

In April 2023, Racine and the co-defendant were arrested for a traffic violation in which law enforcement seized more than 15 grams of methamphetamine.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Montana sent the following:

A Browning man who admitted to trafficking methamphetamine on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation was sentenced Monday to four years and eight months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Jesse said today Laslovich.

The defendant, Robbie Wayne Racine, 31, pleaded guilty in January to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided.

The government alleged in court documents that in the spring of 2023, Racine was arrested in several vehicles containing methamphetamine and other evidence of its distribution. In April 2023, Racine was arrested for a traffic violation with his co-defendant. The two occupants were arrested. More than 15 grams of methamphetamine were seized from the co-defendant while he was incarcerated. A search of the vehicle also revealed evidence of distribution, including bags and a digital scale. A month later, Racine was driving another vehicle when he was stopped again by Blackfoot law enforcement for a traffic violation and was arrested. Racine had a scale in his pocket. Law enforcement searched the vehicle and seized more than 170 grams of methamphetamine in a safe hidden like a book.

The U.S. Attorney's Office filed charges. Blackfeet Law Enforcement, the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Glacier County Sheriff's Office conducted the investigation.
