DOWNTOWN — AFTER A SERIES of burglaries in Bensonhurst and Gravesend over six months from 2022 to 2023, Bensonhurst resident John Catullo, 55, was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a statement. Two of the burglaries took place at homes and four at local stores. Catullo was convicted of stealing Rolex and Cartier watches, gold and diamond necklaces, bracelets and earrings, merchandise and thousands of dollars in cash. At least one burglary was committed while Catullo was out on bail for previous burglaries, Gonzalez said. Catullo was sentenced by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun.
