Bronx stabbing: 29-year-old man dies after being stabbed outside Morris Heights daycare

MORRIS HEIGHTS, Bronx (WABC) — A man died after being stabbed in the chest near a Bronx daycare on Tuesday, in what police sources said was the result of a road rage dispute.

The victim was stabbed in the chest in front of 1809 Phelan Pl. in Morris Heights just before 4:30 p.m.

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he later died.

Police later identified him as Ronald Gomez-Mesa, 29.

Police sources told Eyewitness News the incident began following a dispute over the road.

They say the victim, the driver of one of the vehicles, had an argument with the driver of another vehicle,

She then called a man she knew to the scene, who arrived and began fighting with the victim.

Sources say the acquaintance stabbed the victim in the chest, which is believed to be a fatal wound.

No arrests have been made as police continue to search for the attacker.

The investigation is ongoing.
