Brevard Fire Rescue's Firefighter Sponsorship Signing Day featured 45 recipients selected for training

applicants will attend East Florida State for EMT and/or Fire Academy training

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Fire Department held its third annual Firefighter Sponsorship Signing Day on May 25 and presented 45 recipients selected for BCFR sponsorship.

This opportunity provides funding for EMT & Fire training at Eastern Florida State College, as well as conditional offers of employment.

These recipients have a lot of hard work ahead of them, but they will join the ranks of BCFR firefighters/EMTs after completing their training and earning their certifications from the State of Florida.

“Please join us in welcoming each of them to the BCFR family and congratulating them on their decision to serve their community with a career in public service,” said the Brevard County Fire Department spokesperson.

All prospective students must complete the Eastern Florida State College online application for admission, as well as the separate online application to the Public Safety Institute.

The EMT program is designed to train individuals for entry-level positions in emergency medical services and first responders. Graduates can also earn certification that will allow them to continue their education in the fire service or paramedics.

The Paramedic program is designed to help students complete their EMS training by earning a Paramedic certificate from the State of Florida. Certified paramedics can then declare their specialization in order to complete an associate degree in EMS.
