BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Today is about honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

By sacrifice, I don't mean that they narrowly missed out on celebrating their wedding anniversary, their children's birthday party, or even their own birthday.

What I mean is that because of their sacrifice, they were never able to celebrate even one of these events again, but you and I can celebrate them year after year with our spouse , our children and our family.

In fact, on this Memorial Day, if you wake up in the United States of America, you owe the cloak of freedom under which you slept last night, to those brave souls who “gave it all” to protect their country. .

As Americans, we owe an immense debt of gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy, to those who gave their lives on foreign soil, protecting our way of life.

We owe this debt of gratitude to those who left everything on the battlefield to protect their families, their communities and their country!!

We owe it to those who became prisoners of war, suffering enormously at the hands of their captors, and to those who are still missing today, leaving behind a family who has never been able to turn the page on their lives. one of their relatives.

These heroes gave their lives, and in return gave us our freedom, our security and, frankly, our ability to celebrate birthdays, Easter, Christmas, anniversaries, etc. !!

We owe them our respect, our prayers, our admiration, our freedom and our lives as we know them today!! You see, when you hear someone say “they gave everything,” what they really mean is that they gave their lives so that you and your family could live in a free society like no other in the world.

This means that they have given up the opportunity to grow old with their spouse, to see their children graduate from high school and college, to enjoy Christmas every year with their family, to help their parents as they age and have need their children by their side, to love. , play and live life to the fullest, so that you and yours can do just that… live life to the fullest in the greatest nation on the planet.

So today, while you cook, go to the beach, hang out by the pool or in hell, just grab a bite to eat, look to the sky and remember those who sacrificed their lives so that you could enjoy yours.

In fact, to truly honor them, take a break each day from the hustle and bustle of life and say a prayer for their families, talk to your children about their heroic legacy, and remember that Memorial Day is about honoring them for their sacrifices. , but every other day of the year is your chance to live your life as a proud American and prove to them that you were worth fighting for.
