Breaking-in call leads to trafficking arrest | News

A Floyd County woman was arrested on multiple charges after Kentucky State Police reported responding to a break-in call in Hueysville.

According to an arrest citation written by KSP Trooper Keithan Hamilton, on June 1 he was dispatched to the calla and was informed along the way that Ashley D. Hicks, 39, had attempted to break into breaking into a residence.

Upon arrival, Hamilton wrote, he contacted Hicks and a man and learned she had four active arrest warrants.

Hicks reported that she lived at the residence and had been gone for a week, according to the citation.

Hamilton wrote that Hicks asked to retrieve her purse from an RV behind the residence and got permission from the owner to search.

The citation stated that when Hamilton entered the residence, he saw what appeared to be controlled substances and, when asked, Hicks stated that the substances were his and she admitted that he contained 3 to 4 grams of methamphetamine, 6 to 8 grams of fentanyl and a syringe full of Hicks' blood.

Hamilton wrote that he also saw three glass pipes and two more syringes.

Hicks was booked into the Floyd County Detention Center for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first offense), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), first-offense trafficking in a substance controlled (carfentanil or fentanyl). derivatives), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine, first offense), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
