BREAKING: 11-year-old girl stabbed by intruder in Rockford area home

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An 11-year-old girl was stabbed in her Rockford-area home around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, police said. The girl was rushed to hospital where she is being treated, but her condition is currently unknown.

Kent County deputies say they were called to the 8000 block of Ella Terrace Court, just southeast of Rockford, for a man in the home. The girl was then stabbed several times. Police arrested the 24-year-old suspect, also from Plainfield Township, and he is currently being questioned. Officers did not say whether the suspect was known to the victim or if this was a random attack.
