Brattleboro man charged with second-degree stabbing murder

BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Police Department arrested Lavadus Williams, 19, in connection with a fatal stabbing at the Brattleboro Transportation Center on Flat Street.

At approximately 10:47 p.m. on June 20, police were called to the scene at 77 Flat Street where they found a victim suffering from a stab wound.

Brattleboro Fire Emergency Services attempted lifesaving measures before transporting the individual to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead.

Williams, a Brattleboro resident, was charged with second-degree murder following the incident.

He was taken to the Brattleboro Police Department for processing and appeared in Windham County Superior Court this afternoon.

Brattleboro police previously identified a suspect, who was at large following the stabbing.

The department has now confirmed Williams' arrest but has not released the identity of the victim, citing ongoing investigations.
