Bradley, the missing Walterboro monkey, has been found

A monkey missing in the South Carolina Lowcountry has been found and is back with its owner. Monday morning, Colleton County Animal Services said Bradley, a 15-year-old Japanese macaque, had been captured, according to the pet's owner. “The outpouring of concern and information from Colleton County residents has been overwhelming and we are grateful for the public’s support in helping us locate Bradley,” Colleton Animal Services said in a statement. “We greatly appreciate the community’s support for animal welfare.” Bradley escaped from his habitat near Walterboro on Thursday, May 23. The Colleton County Sheriff's Office was contacted on Friday, May 24 to assist the owner after efforts to capture the monkey failed. Residents have been asked not to approach the animal and to keep an eye on pets when outside in the area. Bradley has resided in the Walterboro area for six years.
