Bradford man jailed for alleged burglary | News

A Bradford man is in the McKean County Jail after an alleged argument Wednesday night in the city.

Matthew T. Zawatski, 42, of 153 Main St., Apt. 201, was arraigned before District Judge Rich Luther on charges of burglary, a first-degree felony; criminal trespass, a third-degree felony; terrorist threats, second degree misdemeanor; and public drunkenness, a summary offense.

According to the criminal complaint, Bradford City Police were dispatched at 9:34 p.m. to a residence on High Street for a verbal disturbance.

The victim told police that Zawatski knocked on the door, then entered the residence without permission and had to be forcibly removed from the property.

Zawatski then allegedly threatened the victims, saying “he would come back, break into the house, steal things, slit the victims' throats and take their children.”

Zawatski, according to the complaint, told police “he was higher up than the FBI and worked with the Bradford and Jamestown (NY) FBI.”

He told officers the residents had cocaine inside and talked about a separate problem with a minor inside, but he did not know who the residents were, according to the complaint.

Unable to post $3,000 bail, Zawatski is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
