Boyd resident identified in fatal Parker County crash that left 4 dead

A Boyd resident was among four people killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday on Farm Road 51 near Friendship Road in Parker County.

The crash occurred around 2:18 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). According to the DPS investigation, Kathryn Elizabeth Lain, 29, of Boyd was traveling south on Farm Road 51 in a 2023 Subaru Legacy before she was involved in a head-on collision with a 2021 Ford F-150.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that (the Subaru) was traveling south on FM 51. (The F-150) was traveling north on FM 51. (The Subaru) veered into the northbound lane and struck the (F-150) head on. manner,” said DPS Sgt. William Lockridge. “It is unknown at this time why (the Subaru) veered into the northbound lane.”

Lain and three passengers in the F-150, including two minors, were killed in the crash. Daniel Schilb, 66, of Springtown, was identified among the victims in the death, along with two 9-year-old girls, each of Springtown.

The driver of the F-150, Autumn Rae Reed, 43, of Springtown, was transported to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries.

“This is an ongoing investigation and there are no further details,” Lockridge said in the DPS release.
