Boy surrenders to San Rafael police after Saturday shooting

(BCN) — A boy turned himself in to authorities in San Rafael following a shooting in the city last weekend, police said.

The San Rafael Police Department said a boy allegedly involved in Saturday's shooting in the 500 block of B Street turned himself in Wednesday while investigators are still looking for leads to identify and arrest d other suspects, including the main shooter.


The suspect who surrendered was booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall for alleged conspiracy and complicity.

“Due to the ages of the suspects, we are not releasing any identifying information about the suspects,” San Rafael police said.

Police said following multiple calls of a disturbance around 2:40 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of D Street, a collision occurred in the 500 block of B Street where two Suspects were seen fleeing the scene.

First responders discovered a man with a gunshot wound. San Rafael firefighters transported the gunshot victim to a local hospital, police said.

“Based on our initial investigation, these two incidents are related and are limited to the individuals involved. There is no threat to the general public,” San Rafael police said.
