Boy, 12, arrested as investigation continues after teen 'stabbed in the back' on Arnold Street

Police made an arrest after learning a teenager had been stabbed during an altercation.

Detectives are continuing their inquiries after it was reported that a 17-year-old boy had been stabbed in the back during an incident in Willbert Road, Arnold, at around 9.15pm yesterday (Friday 14 June 2024).

The teenager was taken to hospital. His injury is not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Officers quickly went to the scene and work is continuing to establish all the circumstances.

As part of their investigation, police arrested a 12-year-old boy in connection with the attack. He was arrested on suspicion of intentional injury.

Detective Sergeant Nathan Bingham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I would like to reassure members of the public that we are treating this as an isolated incident and reassurance patrols have been increased in the area as we Let's continue to establish the facts about what happened.

“Our inquiries continue to locate an outstanding suspect in connection with this incident and officers remain in the area to reassure the public.”
